Privacy Policy
The Expected Value LLC
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Expected Value LLC ("The Expected Value", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use theexpectedvalue.com, including calculators, ProTools pages, account features, and related services.
1) Information We Collect
We collect information you choose to provide, such as messages you send to us, account or access details used for paid tools, and information you enter into site tools or portfolio features.
We also collect technical information automatically, including pages visited, referring pages, approximate device and browser details, IP address information in server logs, and diagnostic events needed to operate and secure the site.
2) Analytics, Cookies, and Local Storage
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand site traffic, popular pages, calculator interactions, and usage patterns. The
Google tag loads with analytics storage denied by default. While storage is denied, Google Analytics may receive limited
cookieless measurements for basic reporting and modeling, but it does not read or write first-party analytics cookies or
persistent device identifiers. Selecting Accept analytics, or the regional default where a prior choice is not
required, allows full measurement and cookies such as _ga and
_ga_<container-id>. Selecting No analytics cookies keeps analytics storage denied and
removes accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies.
When analytics storage is allowed, we also measure visits from AI assistants and subsequent marketplace clicks. We retain only a source label (such as ChatGPT or Claude), whether it came from a tagged link or referring host, and a timestamp in this browser tab's session storage, expiring after 30 minutes without a page visit. This attribution does not store prompts, conversation identifiers, or complete referring URLs. Choosing no analytics cookies clears this attribution. Source labels are referral signals, not verified identities; marketplace clicks do not establish purchases or commissions.
Some account or access features may use essential session cookies, including Patreon-related sessions, to keep you signed in and confirm access. Some tools may use browser local storage to remember interface preferences such as filters. These storage features help the site function and do not process payments directly.
The essential tev_analytics_consent preference records only whether you selected analytics or essential-only
mode so the site can honor that choice on later visits. No preference cookie is written merely because the regional
default applies. Analytics choices do not disable essential account, security, shopping-cart, PayPal checkout, or interface-preference
storage.
3) How We Use Information
We use information to operate calculators and tools, provide paid access where applicable, maintain security, debug problems, measure site performance, improve content, respond to requests, and comply with legal or operational needs.
4) Third Parties and Sharing
We may share limited information with service providers that help operate the site: Hostinger for hosting and security; Google Analytics for optional measurement; Patreon for access checks; PayPal for direct-store payment and order processing; and email or notification providers for operational messages. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices and receive only the information needed for the applicable purpose.
Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The site includes marketplace and affiliate links. If you click a third-party link, the destination site or affiliate network may receive information about the click and may set its own cookies or tracking technologies. Their privacy practices are controlled by them, not by The Expected Value.
5) Your Choices
Use the Privacy Choices button in the site footer at any time to accept analytics cookies or keep them
disabled. Your explicit choice overrides the site's regional default on later visits from that browser. Selecting
No analytics cookies keeps analytics storage denied and removes accessible first-party _ga
cookies; limited cookieless measurements may continue for basic reporting and modeling.
You can also control or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may
affect account access or some site features. Google also offers a browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics at
tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Use the data export and deletion request page or contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy help related to information we maintain about you. We will respond as required by applicable law. See the Affiliate Disclosure for more about referral-link tracking by destination marketplaces and affiliate networks.
Linked MCP and AI Clients
When you choose to link an MCP client such as ChatGPT, we use your existing account and membership to authorize the permissions you approve. Public Daily EV requires no account. Pricing permission alone does not expose your Manafolio. Separate portfolio read permission shares your holdings, purchase costs, dated valuations, and MCP change history with the linked client. Holdings results exclude notes, storage locations, vendors, and tags. Separate write consent permits direct inventory changes you request and recording completed sales or openings; it does not execute purchases, sales, or payments.
We store authorization records and hashes of MCP credentials to operate and secure these connections. We do not give the linked client your Patreon credentials or personal MCP key. MCP changes are recorded in a private before-and-after journal, including affected sale or opening events, to support review, duplicate-request protection, and rollback. Disconnecting does not erase that journal or undo completed changes. No automatic journal-expiry period is currently applied; our retention and privacy-request provisions apply to these records.
Information returned to a client is processed under that client's privacy practices; disconnecting cannot recall information already delivered. Manage linked access or review reversible changes through our MCP access and support page. Use the data export and deletion request page above for privacy help.
6) Retention and Security
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the site, maintain records, resolve issues, protect the service, or meet legal and operational requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no website or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7) Children
The site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8) Updates and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy as our site, tools, data sources, or legal obligations change. The updated date above indicates the latest version.
Questions or privacy requests can be sent to contact@theexpectedvalue.com.
